Contracts & Policies

As part of our contract services at Bedrock HR, we work out the best contractual arrangements for our clients, prior to recruitment or before a contract is offered.

Contracts of Employment

Certain terms and conditions of employment must be provided to employees on or before the first day of employment. The information to be provided includes:

  • Employer and employee details
  • Start and continuous employment dates
  • Pay structure and schedule
  • Working hours and holiday entitlement
  • Sick pay and pension information
  • Notice periods
  • Job title and description
  • Workplace location
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Training and probation arrangements
  • Any applicable collective agreements

We provide contracts of employment that meet legal requirements and are tailored to the particular circumstances of the appointment.

Where the appointment is particularly complex or where restricted covenants are important we may suggest engaging an employment lawyer for the contract, which we can arrange.

Contracts for Services

Sometimes it is better to offer a contract for services rather than employment, for example where the work is very occasional or where the nature of the engagement is more flexible. We help clients determine employment status in line with HMRC guidelines and create contracts for consultants and contractors across sectors.

Employee Handbooks and Policies

An effective employee handbook ensures consistency, legal compliance, and clear communication. It can include:

  • Mandatory policies (e.g. disciplinary, grievance)
  • Guidance on flexible working, leave, sickness, and retirement
  • Details expanding on employment contracts (e.g. pension provider info)
  • Organisational mission, vision, and values

We create bespoke handbooks tailored to your sector, tone, and culture—often the first written impression of your organisation for new recruits.

As well as ensuring legal compliance, Bedrock actively consider the best content, style and tone to be applied to contracts and handbooks. This is important because it supports engagement and is often the first written impression that the new recruit has of your organisation.
